Find True Happiness- You Can Have It!

Finding True Happiness Within Yourself

True happiness can only be found from within yourself. A best friend, spouse, kids, house, car, or a boat cannot provide you with true happiness. All of these things can disappear. True happiness is something that will be there no matter what you have or who you are with. It’s important to recognize this because you will always be vulnerable to unhappiness, when you depend on things outside of you to provide you with True happiness.

Happiness is when you don’t need or depend on anything outside of you to feel good or have a sense of well-being. Momentary happiness can come from people, places or things but if these things were suddenly gone would you still be happy?

There was a time in my life that finding true happiness became very important to me. I had suffered a lot of losses, and I realized I couldn’t search outside of myself to find my happiness. I truly had to allow it to come from within. While there is nothing wrong with you enjoying the company of others or having nice things, there is a danger in not having the ability to “just be.”

Just be is simply being in acceptance to whatever may be going on, realizing that this is just a part of your journey and still feeling a sense of peace, even when things didn’t turn out the way you wanted.

Emotional Health

Emotional health is derived from your feelings. Being able to express, and process how you feel in a safe way. Maintaining good Emotional health is priceless in order to have true happiness, one has to be attentive to how they feel, and also learn from the things that has caused them to feel negatively.

Whenever entering into a situation ask the question, “Will this effect my emotional health?” “How can it effect me?”

Having a sense of meaning and purpose for your life, and being able to balance your life with all of the many hats you may wear is all a part of your emotional health. You must be cognitive of it because if you allow different things to take you off center this will put your emotional health in jeopardy.

Just like you have to have a regimen and set goals for your physical health you also have to have things in place to maintain your emotional health for true happiness to flourish.

True Happiness is Not outside of You.

To be truly happy you neither need other people nor materialistic things. “Happiness is the consequence of personal effort.” It is a choice that you make daily to serve your highest good. It is your choice to give the best version of you and be okay with that.

Be around people who represent positive energy. Not people who drain your energy or who don’t represent good emotional health. You must be mindful of who you allow in your space and your company. Protect your heart and mind to Protect your happiness. Protect your physical body because if your physical health is not intact then the inner happiness that you desire will be under distress.

Emotions can be very delicate especially if you have endured a lot of disappointments. So it is wise that you be fully aware of what you allow in your thoughts, and who you allow in your space. Your emotional health is your responsibility just like your physical health.

Be Your Best Friend

The most important relationship you can have is with yourself. How are you treating yourself? Treat yourself as you would your best friend, a loved one. You deserve your love and affection. Self care. Are you honoring the highest calling of your soul?

True there is nothing wrong with having others to laugh, talk and enjoy life with. But you are in a permanent relationship with yourself, and when you honor and love yourself you are able to pour into others. Being true to who you are gives you a sense of confidence and peacefulness.

How Do You Be Your Best Friend?

Do things you love. Write down what you like to do, don’t worry about how small or trivial it may be. You may not be able to travel every week, but as long as you do some things that you love every once in a while, you will find greater happiness.

  1. Find purpose.-Those who find what they believe can contribute to the well-being of humanity tend to feel better about their lives. You will experience a greater sense of fulfillment, knowing that you are accomplishing so Most people want to be part of something greater than they are, simply because it’s fulfilling.
  2. Listen to your heart. -You are the only one who knows what fills you up.

Cherish laughter moments, times with kids, family and friends. Cherish those times that you have been able to laugh and really feel good. Memories are great to think about, but also make sure you enjoy your own company.

When you accept the present moment as it is, you instantly access a sense of inner peace, while freeing up your energy to make changes within your circle of control to create different outcomes in your the future. You may not actually like what your present circumstance is, but when you release power over and say this is something I cant change so what can I focus on instead? The Serenity Prayer is so powerful. Grant me peace to accept the things I can’t change. Courage to change the things I can. Wisdom to know the difference.

The bottom line is: Be good to yourself. Live and honor  you. There will be always things that may try to challenge your happiness, but remember you can still choose your reaction. Sometimes you may have to take a break and journal or just do nothing. RELAX, IT’S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD.

Every day take some time out and cherish you and what you have. Be kind to you and what you were created to bring forth.

This is your journey to learn, and to live your best life. Find Your inner Happiness today!

Great advice. Being your own best friend is definitely number one on the list to maintaining a sense of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
We are gifted with this life, so why shouldn’t we look after ourselves and seek out the things that make us feel happy. I really can’t see any point in living a life that is filled with unhappiness. The difference between the two is to be found in the way we are thinking in any given moment.
Think happy thoughts and you will be happy…. the opposite is also true. I choose to be happy 🙂
    Thanks for sharing.
